On Monday night, Pablo Hasél barricaded himself with about 50 other people at a university in Lleída in the region of Catalonia to, according to his own statement, draw attention to his impending prison sentence.

On Tuesday morning, the police entered the building to arrest him.

Amnesty International's Spanish branch believes that the punishment against the rapper is unfair and that the crimes he was convicted of are dated.

- A law has been applied that does not comply with international standards for human rights, says Daniel Canales at Amnesty International.

Pablo Hasél was convicted of glorifying terrorism and insulting the king in 2018.
