In Hungary, in Csomor, near Budapest, an Auchan supermarket has decided to help its customers "meet the right people in [their] favorite store" during this pandemic period.

“Singles' baskets” were available at the entrance to the store and read “I'm looking for a soul mate”.

As the Covid-19 makes the love lives of many more complicated, the staff at the sign said it was time to help people.

"It's a great idea in times of coronavirus and an opportunity for those looking for partners, it's entertaining and funny," said Csilla Beres, 25, who was planning to try her luck.

Approach people while respecting barrier gestures

This kind of opportunity should not be missed, said a young man, also 25.

"We will see what happens, we will try," he added.

An operation that had to be done in compliance with sanitary conditions, said a store manager: “Of course, we also draw attention to respecting barrier gestures when we approach each other.

"

Similar operations were to take place on Valentine's Day, this Sunday, in other Auchan supermarkets.

All that remained was for singles to hope that the information had circulated enough to attract their potential soul mate.
