Saitama Prefecture announced that it has confirmed that nine new people have been infected with the mutated coronavirus, which is spreading in the United Kingdom.

According to Saitama Prefecture, a total of nine men and women under the age of 10 to 60s living in the prefecture have been newly confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.

According to the prefecture, 9 people developed the disease from the end of last month to the beginning of this month, and all of them have no history of staying abroad and have no contact with an unspecified number of people.



All nine are mild or have completed medical treatment.



Of the nine, two men in their thirties and sixties were using the same facility as the one who was announced to be infected with the mutant virus on the 9th of this month.



The other seven are family members of a child facility official who was announced to be infected with the mutant virus on the 5th of this month, and now 18 people have been confirmed infected with the facility. ..



Saitama Prefecture will continue to strengthen monitoring by conducting screening tests as well as checking for the spread of infection, such as by testing close contacts.



This brings the number of confirmed mutant virus infections to 35 in Saitama Prefecture.
