the incidence rate of Covid-19 recorded over the last seven days in the Alpes-Maritimes.

And it's still on the rise.

With 490 confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants (462 from February 1 to 7), the department once again breaks its own record and remains the hardest hit in mainland France.

The Alpes-Maritimes are now approaching the symbolic bar of 500 confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants, above which the European Union encourages its member countries to issue recommendations not to visit the areas concerned.

The department, where 40% of positive tests now concern the English variant, at the same time recorded a new sharp increase in hospitalizations: 25 more in conventional services and 7 more in intensive care.

The initial capacity is largely exceeded (117.2%) and 92% of the beds (including those specially freed) are occupied.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,318 attributable to Covid-19 have been recorded in hospitals and nursing homes in the Maralpines, according to the latest data from the ARS Paca.
