For the first time, a woman, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, will take the reins of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and she will also be the first representative of the African continent.

The candidacy of this woman with an impressive career is not, however, unanimous.

At the end of October, the Trump administration, which in four years has done everything to undermine the organization, also blocked at the last minute the consensus that was emerging around the 66-year-old Nigerian.
