Xposure 2021 awards its prizes to photographers

After a trip in which the International Photography Festival (Xposure) carried the whole world to Sharjah, in which he narrated tales from the mountains, wilderness and seas, and embodied dreams of surviving wars and conflicts, (Xposure) closed the curtain on the activities of its fifth edition, which was presented - organized by the Sharjah Government Media Office - 1,558 photos created by 400 international photographers in 54 exhibitions, which provided 21 inspirational discussion sessions, 14 workshops, 10 group discussion sessions and 14 technical progress evaluation sessions.

In his speech during the closing ceremony of the festival, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, stressed that the end of the festival does not mean the end of the stories of pictures and photographers. Rather, their work will remain in memory, learning and guiding the world towards exerting more responsibility, giving and love, explaining that photographers are the owners of The message is true witnesses of exceptional moments, who are alert to their creativity of changes and herald change.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the photographers who won the Exposure Awards 2021 in the main categories of the award. The head of the Sharjah Media Council honored the Dutch photographer Hussain Vardenvard with a picture "In total darkness" with the Exposure International Prize for Photography 2021, while the photographer Anna Walker from Germany won first place with the Architectural Photography Award. Fatima Qader from Bahrain came second in the category, while the first place winner, Albert Drus from the Netherlands, and his runner-up, Ahmad al-Abbasi, from Iran, were honored in the aerial photography and drone category.

In the junior category (under 18 years), the main photographer Abdullah won, and Joel Juzi came second, while the Chinese photographer Xing Luo won for the landscape category, and secondly, Weng Shun from Malaysia, and for the close-up photography category (macro), the Spanish photographer Pedro won Louis Saise won first place, and secondly Saudi Riyad Hamzi, while Alan Schroeder from Belgium won the award for photojournalism, and was runner-up to Simon Moschis Sabgen from Hungary, and won the award in the portrait category Kevin Che from the United States of America, while Asim Ijaz from Pakistan won the second place .

In the short films category, he won the Iranian prize Zahra Kababyan, and Tripti Tamang came second from Nepal, while he won in the category of travel photography, Wai Fu from Thailand, and the runner-up of Yangkian Wang from China, and the special award category for Sharjah government employees went to Muhammad Nofal in first place And the second place goes to Abdullah Aref.
