Three days and seven patients were stuck in the throat by a fishbone, the doctor: drinking vinegar and swallowing steamed buns is not reliable, or aggravates the injury

Eating fish accidentally got stuck in the throat by a fishbone, drink vinegar and swallow steamed buns?

  Not reliable!

On February 14, The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) learned from the People's Hospital of Huangshan City, Anhui Province that three days before the Spring Festival holiday, the hospital had treated seven patients who were caught by foreign bodies such as fish bones while eating fish.

Hua Lei, the chief physician of the Gastroenterology Department of the hospital, reminded that if you accidentally eat fish and get stuck in your throat, do not drink vinegar or swallow steamed buns to avoid aggravating digestive tract damage.

If it is resolved, it can only show that you are very lucky...

According to reports, on the afternoon of the 11th, the hospital admitted a 57-year-old patient, and found a fish bone pierced into the patient's mid-esophagus through a three-dimensional imaging system.

At around 23:00 on the 12th, Mr. Ba, a 48-year-old patient, was admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the hospital because of "he swallowed fish bones after 6 hours of eating, and developed a cough with pain behind the breastbone".

With the help of bronchoscopes, medical staff from the Department of Respiratory Medicine Cheng Wen and Yu Xiangzhou in the hospital took out a piece of fish bone of 2.5*2.0 cm.

The patient is currently undergoing follow-up treatment.

The 85-year-old Uncle Zhu suffered from cough and fatigue for three days, and occasionally had chest tightness and other symptoms within a month. At the age of 30, he went to see a doctor urgently.

Chest CT scan showed high-density shadows in the middle segment of the right lung, lower lobe bronchus, right pneumonia changes, and lung infection, and he was admitted to the hospital.

On the morning of the 12th, the doctor performed an emergency bronchoscopy for him.

During the operation, there was a large amount of viscous secretions from the main bronchus on both sides. After exhaustion, a bony flat foreign body was found with granuloma.

After the foreign body was clamped out, the patient's main bronchus was immediately unobstructed.

On the 13th, the hospital’s endoscopy center doctor Wu Xinjun said: In less than three days from the 30th to the second morning of the new year, the doctor on duty in the gastroenterology department of the hospital cooperated with them and had taken out fish bones or other foreign bodies for multiple patients. .

Internal medicine physician Hua Lei reminded: "Eating fish accidentally gets stuck in the fish bones. Do not drink vinegar or swallow steamed buns to avoid aggravating the digestive tract damage. Drinking vinegar to soften the fish bones requires a long period of soaking. The contact time between vinegar and fish bones is very short and difficult. Achieve results; if you swallow steamed buns, if you use them improperly, the fish bones will pierce deeper in the esophagus and aggravate the injury. Once the foreign body gets stuck inadvertently, you need to come to the hospital as soon as possible. Take out the gastroscope or bronchoscope."
