Infection has been confirmed for the first time in Yamanashi and Shiga prefectures.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, seven men and women living in Yamanashi, Shiga, Hyogo, and Niigata prefectures have been confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.



Of these, in Yamanashi Prefecture, a mutant virus that has spread locally was detected in men who have stayed in Brazil.



In Shiga prefecture, a woman who had never stayed abroad was infected with a mutant virus found in the United Kingdom.



This is the first time that infection with a mutant virus has been confirmed in Yamanashi and Shiga prefectures other than quarantine inspection.



In addition, in Hyogo prefecture, a mutant virus found in the United Kingdom was detected in girls under the age of 10 and men in their 30s.



In Niigata Prefecture, it has been confirmed that three men and women were infected with the British mutant virus.



All seven people confirmed to be infected in Hyogo and Niigata prefectures have no history of staying abroad.



The total number of people who have never stayed abroad and are believed to have been infected in Japan is 57, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare continues to be vigilant.
