Julia Alfrida went to the Melodifestivalen through P4 Neste.

And once in place, she sets up with a song that she has both been with and written and choreographed.

And for Julia Alfrida, the message is the most important here.

She says she wanted a song that could inspire a young person sitting in front of the TV with the knowledge that it will return to school on Monday.

- The song is about myself as a person and can hopefully inspire others to find their self-worth and feel happy about who they are, she says.

Motley growing up

She describes her own upbringing as motley.

She developed anorexia already in middle school and had a far-reaching identity crisis.

Three years ago she came out as a lesbian and feels that much has become easier since she dared to be herself fully.

But the message is not just in the text.

On stage, she has what she calls an army of love of videos of relatives, friends and acquaintances.

There are, among other things, her grandfather, her niece and her old music teacher.

They sing along and move in time to the music.

With the choice of people, she wants to further highlight the livestock of diversity.

The message in the dance

Anyone looking for a message can also take a closer look at the dance.

Because even in the dance movements something is hidden.

With her hands she draws words in American sign language.

Some characters have had to adjust something so that it can be done while holding a microphone.

But whoever looks closely sees that she draws the words dignity, wealth and love.

- The song is about inner wealth and self-worth and diversity.

So it's not about being rich in money or material things.

But about being happy with yourself and surrounding yourself with friends and family.

I am very proud of the song, she says.
