Closure of 8 mosques in Saudi Arabia after detecting Corona cases among worshipers

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Saudi Arabia temporarily closed 8 mosques in a number of regions, after Corona cases were confirmed among the ranks of worshipers.


The ministry stated, in a report, that it began, today, Friday, the temporary closure of mosques after 10 confirmed cases of corona were proven among the worshipers, two cases in two mosques in Jeddah governorate, two cases in a mosque in Al-Qunfudhah province in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, two cases in Riyadh, two cases in a mosque in Ahad Al-Masarha governorate in Jazan region, and one case In a mosque in Al-Nairiyah governorate in the Eastern Province, and one case in a mosque in Rijal Al-Ma`a governorate, Asir region.

The ministry called for the precautionary measures to be taken and cooperation in reporting any violations or laxity in implementing the precautionary measures approved by the competent authorities.

The ministry added that "the number of mosques that were closed precautionally in the Kingdom after establishing injuries among worshipers who frequent them reached 52 mosques, 38 of which were opened after the completion of sterilization and completion of readiness in the framework of ensuring the worshipers' health and providing them with the highest safety standards."
