The circulation of the coronavirus remains stable in France, with 139,009 people tested positive last week, against 144,135 the previous week, and around 141,000 two weeks earlier.
Encouraging sign, the new admissions to the hospital over a week have passed under 11,000 patients.
But the situation remains fragile.
In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and Provence Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the occupancy rate of intensive care beds by Covid-19 patients exceeds 70% of the capacities before the health crisis, with a rate close to saturation in PACA (95%).
A new screening tool is added to the French panoply: this Thursday, the High Authority of Health gave the green light to saliva tests in schools and universities, deeming this process effective and less invasive than nasopharyngeal tests.
