An unpublished autograph work that seems to have been written by Ango Sakaguchi, a writer known for his "Theory of Corruption" published immediately after the end of the war, was found.

The expert who conducted the survey evaluated that "It is extremely rare to find Ango's unpublished manuscript, and it is a material that shows the process leading up to the establishment of a free and open writing method."

I found 41 sheets of manuscript paper with the signature of Ango Sakaguchi, which was purchased by Professor Itsuo Asako of Hanazono University, who is continuing his research, at an antiquarian bookstore in Tokyo, and was purchased by literary critic Kazuto Nanakita. As a result of appraising with several people, it was judged to be an unpublished work written by myself.

Is it a work from 1938 to 1945?

According to Professor Asako, it seems that the work was written around 1938 to 16 from the time when the manuscript paper was used, and it was not given a title and ended in a state of being written.

In the love-hate drama about sisters, the fear and cruelty behind the beauty of women are depicted, and the structure of the story and the setting of the characters are often the work called "Hanayou" released in 1947. It means that we can see what they have in common.

The work was printed by Professor Asako and others under the name "Cruel Game" and was included in the book published this month.

Professor Asako said, "I am very surprised that it is very rare to find Ango's unpublished manuscript. In the 10's of the Showa era, it seems that he was conducting various experiments such as how to write a person and how to take a viewpoint. It will be a good stimulus for future research as a material that shows the process leading up to the establishment of the writing method. "
