Masahiro Terao, a former investigative section manager of the Metropolitan Police Department who was in charge of investigating the subway sarin attack and "suspicion of loss" and was called "Mr. 1 section manager", has passed away.

I was 78 years old.

Masahiro Terao was in charge of the subway sarin attack and other incidents as the Chief of Investigation 1 of the Metropolitan Police Department.

In addition, in the so-called "Loss Suspicion" in which a Japanese woman was murdered in Los Angeles, USA in 1981, I visited the site and investigated it.

He was called "Mr. 1 Section Manager" because of his background in solving a number of difficult cases, and even after he retired, he was appointed as a "senior advisor" to convey the know-how and experience of investigations to young police officers.

According to the people concerned, he has been receiving medical treatment for his illness recently, but he died on the 24th of last month.
