In July 2020, heavy rainfall continued to hit Jiangxi, and a super-historical flood occurred in the Poyang Lake Basin.

On the evening of July 12, a breach occurred in the Xiuhe Triangle Joint Weld in Jiujiang, Jiangxi. A large number of houses were damaged, farmland was flooded, and 23,000 people were transferred overnight in Yongxiu County.

The Spring Festival is approaching. Will the affected people have a home to return?

Has the damaged house been repaired?

A reporter from Chinanews.com brought these questions back to the flood-stricken villages in Yongxiu, Jiangxi.

"At that time, the houses were all flooded, the flood was rushing and fast, and there was also a loss of more than 100,000 yuan worth of goods." Hu Yanzhen, who opened a supermarket beside the main road in Sanjia Township, Yongxiu County, recalled the scene at that time with a choking sound and some moist eyes.

A reporter from Chinanews.com once observed Hu Yanzhen's supermarket closely after the collapse of Sanjiao Lianwei. At that time, the water was so fast that nearly half of the house was submerged in water, and the sign of a shop next door was crumbling.

But now, Hu Yanzhen's supermarket has been renovated both inside and outside. The store is filled with new year's goods and Spring Festival couplets ready for sale, and outside the house is a newly built asphalt road.

During interviews with reporters, local residents kept coming in to buy New Year goods.

"It's all repaired now, the business in the store is particularly good, and it is ready for the New Year." Hu Yanzhen said.

After the flood, the government subsidized 40,000 yuan to repair Cai Hengzhen's house.

"When the flood came, the water reached my knees, and the house was in danger of collapsing at any time." Cai Hengzhen, a villager in Hongqi Village, Sanjiao Township, who was nearly old, told the China News Network reporter that after the flood, the government provided 40,000 yuan in post-disaster reconstruction subsidies to let They rebuilt an 80-square-meter bungalow on the original site of the destroyed house.

When you come to the house reconstructed by Cai Hengzhen, you can see that the words "Auspicious Ruyi" are printed on the door, and the walls inside the house have been repainted, making it spacious and bright.

Cai Hengzhen said that the house is much better than before after rebuilding, and he never thought that he could live in such a new house in the country.

"My son is going to take us to the county town for the New Year. I don't want to. My wife and I want to spend the New Year in the new house this year." Cai Hengzhen smiled when he talked about the new house.

"Now I have a new house with no leaks on the top and no moisture on the bottom. You can rest assured for the New Year."

Le Honghui and his wife were standing in front of their new home. Two red lanterns were hung up high, and the dried wax prepared for the Chinese New Year was hanging on the drying pole in front of the door, giving a peaceful and festive atmosphere.

"The water has flooded our shoulders, and the village sent a boat overnight to take us out." Recalling the big flood six months ago, Lefloo still had a lingering fear.

For the New Year's vision, Le Flood, who lives in a new house, also has his own expectations.

He wants to add a glazed tile roof to his house after the end of the year to make living with his wife more comfortable.

"Of course I hope everyone is safe, peace is a blessing." He said, waving his fingers.
