On the 8th, in the accident where a submarine of the Maritime Self-Defense Force collided with a cargo ship off the coast of Cape Ashizuri, Kochi Prefecture, the 5th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters dispatched a coast guard officer to the cargo ship arriving off the coast of Kobe Port to damage the hull. I am going to investigate.

Around 11:00 am on the 8th, a submarine "Soryu" of the Maritime Self-Defense Force and a cargo ship "Ocean Artemis" carrying iron ore collided about 50 km offshore southeast of Cape Ashizuri in Kochi Prefecture.

While the cargo ship crew appears to be uninjured, three submarine crew members were slightly injured.

According to the 5th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, coast guard officers board a submarine moored near Kochi Port to hear from the crew and investigate damage to the hull.

In addition, a cargo ship heading for Kobe Port will be moored 4 km offshore from the port, and a coast guard officer will check the degree of damage.

According to the Japan Coast Guard Headquarters, the submarine was undergoing ascent training at the time of the accident, so we will hear more from both crew members to investigate the situation and cause of the accident.
