If you ask people to assess themselves, they are usually far off the mark.

The knowledge has already established itself among psychologists.

This is also thanks to Simine Vazire: In a 2010 study, the psychologist from the University of California at Davis went to great lengths to test the ability to self-discern.

She asked 165 test subjects to assess their own personality;

their friends and even strangers also rated the character of the participants.

In order to be able to measure the personality of the participants according to objective criteria and to be able to compare it with the statements, the test persons also completed a series of psychological tests.

The result: In terms of traits such as fearfulness, the participants were best at assessing themselves.

On the other hand, on intellectual traits, their friends turned out to be the better experts.
