She was 16 years old at the time.
With children, the young girl worked hard to earn money.
In addition to earning work points on the production team, she started selling popsicles.

In the winter of 1982, Han Yue's second son, Zhang Erhui, was born. On the second day after birth, Zhang Jiande did not know where he went.
Han Mei went to her sister's house to wait for her confinement. Han Yue lived in a short thatched house that was ventilated. She wore a bedding at night and got up to feed her baby.
Later, she whipped up the powder skin, which worked for more than 20 years.

But his father Zhang Jiande is a hole in the day.
In Lianxing’s production team, Zhang Jiande rarely worked. Villager Liu Fugui said that as soon as the winter slack, he would go out to gamble, play poker, push Pai Gow, in Lianxing, take a train to Nenjiang, and to other places. .

Several villagers recalled that around 1983, Zhang Jiande was sentenced to one and a half years for gambling.
Zhang Errong remembered that if his father lost the money, he couldn't make any money, so he just took care of his mother; if he won the money, Han Yue couldn't move a point. “He would count the money every time he came back.”
The Han family didn't know about the couple at first. A few years after Han Yue left her natal family, Han Mei would receive a telegram from her sister. Zhang Jiande wrote, "Write everything for you," Han Mei said.

Domestic violence
There are bruises on the legs, back, chest and arms.
After four or five years of leaving, Han Yue took her children back to her natal home, carrying her parents, she pulled up her clothes and showed them to Han Mei, which was played after Zhang Jiande lost money in gambling.

Such beatings rarely avoid others.
The first time Sun Xiuhua saw Han Yue being beaten, it was when she ran into Han Yue who happened to borrow a book at a neighbor’s house. She left Han Yue and chatted with her. At night, Zhang Jiande suddenly rushed in to pick Han Yue’s hair and pulled her out: "Tell you. Go back earlier, don't you go back soon", kicked her on the road.
More violence occurred inside the house.
Usually, when Zhang Errong comes home from school, Han Yue lay on the ground in the yard, foaming at the mouth. Inside the house are the TV, mirror, and kettle that were smashed by Zhang Jiande.
Zhang Errong didn't cry or make trouble, but she was afraid that her mother would pass out.
"Mom, mom", he called her, "Sit up, let's go back to the house", he helped Han Yue to the kang, went out and called the doctor to clean up the broken glass on the floor.
When he was young, five or six years old, he always had fear.
Halfway through the dumplings, Zhang Jiande suddenly returned home and beat and scolded Han Yue. He went to the fight and was beaten, then knelt and fined him for one hour.
The whole family fell into dead silence, and Zhang Errong could hear the sound of firecrackers from other people's houses, which was lively and loud.
Zhang Errong said that he could escape to a neighbor's house, but his brother was still young and could not get out.
Once the younger brother hugged his father's leg, and the father slapped him over with one hand. The younger brother was so scared that he screamed and hugged him.
The violence occurred once or twice in the first month, and there was no fixed time. After the fight was over, Han Yue went to his son's room to sleep for a night, and Zhang Jiande suddenly appeared on the bedside in the middle of the night, pointing to the top of his head and cursing, and they had to cover the quilt.
"For so many years, my mother understands a truth. If she doesn't slurp her mouth, she will suffer less. We don't say anything in the middle, otherwise the noise will be more fierce," Zhang Errong said calmly, smoking a cigarette.
He likes winter the most, because his father is not at home, the children will come to clean glass balls and porcelain, and the mother will call them after cooking, "eat!"
After being beaten, Han Yue never fought back. She just shed tears. The next day she wore powder, cleaned up the housework, and installed broken furniture.
She is tolerant and has her own dignity.
In Zhang Errong's impression, she rarely goes to the health center, and usually finds a barefoot doctor at home to take anti-inflammatory drugs.

Can't make it any longer, Han Yue returned to her family's home, and Han Mei remembered five or six times.
My sister told her parents about the domestic violence and wanted to get a divorce. The father just said, "If the child is there, it's too late to say anything." The parents left her at home to calm down and give her food and money to buy clothes for the child. .
Han Mei said that when Han Yue eloped, many things were difficult to tell her parents, and she also felt that the divorce was disgraceful.
Everyone would say, "How can you enjoy your second marriage? There are two boys in you. It costs tens of thousands to even go to school and get a family." Han Mei feels that the sister is reluctant to bear her children. All right."
Han Yue's parents have been to Lianxing two or three times, but they are not good.
The third brother of Han Yue had lived in Lianxing for two years. He beat Zhang Jiande, and Zhang Jiande carried an axe to look around. The third brother moved away after hiding for a while.
Zhang Errong still vaguely remembered that when she was a teenager, her mother and father mentioned divorce, and her father threatened, "If I get divorced, I will kill your parents."
Zhang Jiande did not like Han Yue's return to her family.
Once, when she wanted to escape again, she met her neighbor Meng Qingyun on the village road. Han Yue pulled down the collar, and a big scar on her neck was opened by Zhang Jiande with scissors two or three months ago.
She quietly told Meng Qingyun, let her help hide the clothes in the grounds of the Longwang Temple, so she could take a fishing boat in the neighboring Zhenxing Village, cross the Nenjiang River, and then walk over the Black Mountain, and take the train to Hongyan Town in Inner Mongolia. She dared not take the ordinary bus route.
"I can't leave if I don't," Han Yue said, "You can kill me if you look at him."
Meng Qingyun did not agree. Afterwards, she didn't know if Han Yue managed to escape that time. She only remembers that Zhang Jiande's wife was beaten and the wooden cabinet on the Kang was smashed.
When she asked, it was Han Yue who left the clothes at his sister-in-law's house, and Zhang Jiande had been there.
Because of this, Han Yue drank pesticide once.
The second son ran to Liu Fugui's house for help. Han Yue "pushed out foam", Liu Fugui hurriedly carried her back to the hospital for gastric lavage.

Later, she continued to appear in the market, kneading the powder.
Meng Qingyun, who was at the stall, heard her chatter about drinking medicine, "She said she couldn't die. This crime was not headed and was beaten. Can she die? You have to live for this family."

Han Yue, who survived, was busy with the human relations in Zhangluo Village. She was able to raise chickens, dogs, and pigs for many years, and grew cabbage, carrots and potatoes in the yard.
She is enthusiastic, and Zhang Errong remembers that she will help out-of-town households when they go to the fair.
Just like when he was young, Sun Xiuhua remembered that Han Yue was still joking, and liked to chat under the shade of a tree, and greet people from afar.
This is the daily life she tries to preserve.
"Jiande", Han Yue always calls her husband like that, and Han Mei can't remember how her brother-in-law calls her sister, "Just ask where your sister has gone, ask the child, where did your mother go, ask the neighbor, you Where is my sister-in-law?"
People began to call her Mrs. Zhang.
In the 1980s, when the land was allocated to each household, Han Yue and Zhang Jiande rented out the land, and the cooperative distributed a dividend of 10,000 to 20,000 per year.
Zhang Errong recalled that in 1997, his father planted land for two years. In 1998, he bought a transport truck. He and his brother had a sports car to pull coal in a mine more than 200 miles away. Han Yue and Zhang Jiande sold coal in the village, earning three to four a year. Million.

Han Yue is the captain of the sunset red art team in the village and often goes to the village to organize activities.

Zhang Errong said that his father would take the money earned by the mother and son, and only give him and his younger brother 100 on the New Year's Eve.
Zhang Jiande didn't stop for two years and began to play money again, losing the annual farm dividend.

After his son became an adult, Zhang Jiande borrowed money from them after losing money and asked them to take five or two thousand, and the phone call kept.
If you can't borrow, Zhang Jiande will borrow from neighbors and relatives, and find his son's friends. If he fails to borrow, "will vent on his mother," Zhang Errong said.
For years of domestic violence, Zhang Errong was used to numbness. After pulling coal, he returned home and slept in the next room. When his father scolded him, he knocked hard on the wall.
After 2004, Zhang Errong moved to live in Nenjiang County and opened an auto repair shop.
At the age of 16, he went to Jilin to join the army and work. He lived for 6 years before returning to his hometown. “I didn’t want to stay in this home, but I wanted to leave.” Since childhood, he was inferior and withdrawn, and he was homesick in the military camp. There was only a mother in his mind, without a father. In the impression, he couldn't remember the time when his father smiled at him.
The second son, Zhang Erhui, lived separately from his parents. When he proposed to split the family, Zhang Jiande chased him with an axe and smashed the windshield of the dump truck. "He (Zhang Erhui) did not dare to go home for several days." Zhang Erhui's wife Song Xiaoqin remembered.
Later, in order to save coal, he lived with his parents and stayed in Lianxing Village. The farthest place he had gone to was Harbin as a junior high school graduate.
"I really want to go out to work in the factory, but I can't do anything else. I know I can't go. I stay with my mother for the longest time," Zhang Erhui said, "We are at home, he can be lighter." He couldn't witness the violence every day, so he parked the coal truck at the crossing and slept in the carriage with a bedding.

Violence broke the whole family.
Zhang Errong remembered that once his wife went to a stand, Zhang Jiande slapped her.
Song Xiaoqin is cooking at home. If it is a bit salty, he will be scolded by her father-in-law.
One thing that impressed Song Xiaoqin very deeply was that her daughter returned to her grandma's house on vacation. At 12 o'clock in the evening, Zhang Jiande beat Han Yue again.
Song Xiaoqin received her daughter's WeChat, "Mom, are you asleep? I'm particularly scared." Although the granddaughter has seen domestic violence scenes, it is the first time it is so serious.
She told Song Xiaoqin that she walked into the back room and saw her grandmother's nose bleed and her mouth begged for mercy. Zhang Jiande watched his granddaughter come in and covered Han Yue's nose with a sock, "Go back to the house."
Song Xiaoqin said that the child used to have a deep relationship with his grandfather, but then he rarely went home.
That night, the granddaughter dared not sleep all night.
Ask for help
In December last year, sitting across from me and talking about the past, Zhang Erhui fell into remorse and silence. He asked several times: "Will you tie him up and beat him up?" He discussed with his brother, but he was afraid that his father would get worse. Beat mother.
Zhang Erhui's rare counterattack occurred in the summer of 2019.
When he arrived home at 11 o'clock after drinking, he heard the scolding from next door, it was his father kicking his mother.
With Jiujin, Zhang Erhui pulled the lock of his father's room forcibly, and he said loudly, "What are you doing? You scold my mother every day!"
Since 2017, domestic violence has been escalating, once every two or three days.
Han Mei saw once, Han Yue was eating, Zhang Jiande came in and said, "You fucking still have the heart to eat", and hit him with his hand.
Song Xiaoqin had also seen her mother-in-law had a heart attack, and her father-in-law kicked her, "If you can't die, get up and don't pretend to be his mother here."
Hearing what his son said that day, Zhang Jiande got up to choke his neck, and Zhang Erhui pressed his father to the kang.
"He scolded my mother, I scolded them all back, I said you are nothing in your life." These few words, Zhang Erhui heard from childhood, every word printed in his mind clearly.
Zhang Jiande picked up a machete on the ground, and Zhang Erhui pointed to his neck and said to his father: "You chop it over." Finally, Zhang Jiande left the knife.

That night, persuading, arguing, persuading, arguing, the domestic violence is still unsolvable.
At other times, Zhang Erhui didn't do anything with his father, "It's also Dad." When he said this, his eyes flickered sadly.
Zhang Jianfang remembered that the two sons were "honorable" to their father, especially Er Hui. When Zhang Jiande saw Zhang Jiande's eyes in summer, he bought ice cream to put him off.

In April, his mother came to Nenjiang to see him, and his father beat and scolded his mother again. He hit "110".
Several policemen from the Tiexi Police Station came to persuade them and left.
Another domestic violence occurred two months later. “The police said we were not filial on the phone, so they detained (hanged up) the phone.” He dismissed the idea of calling the police.
A policeman from the Tiexi Police Station told reporters in December that their work was a shift system and they could not tell which time the police were dispatched.
They always deal with cases of domestic violence, and in the end, the husband and wife reconciled, “resolving the conflict at the grassroots level, and would rather demolish ten temples than one marriage.” He said that beatings can be detained, “but you have to insist on reporting the case. Don’t tell me.” In response to the issue of whether a domestic violence warning has been issued (according to the Anti-Domestic Violence Law, where the domestic violence is relatively minor and no public security management punishment is imposed in accordance with the law, the public security organ will criticize and educate the perpetrator or issue a warning Book), he replied, "I don't know, we haven't been out."
After the police left in April, Han Yue asked Zhang Errong with a sad look, "What's wrong?" She called the police when she was young. Zhang Errong recalled that the head of the police station had also entered the house and asked Zhang Jiande to give a guarantee. Zhang Jiande nodded.

External support has almost lost its effectiveness.
Zhao Guifen, the director of women in Lianxing Village, replied to the Xiaoxiang Morning News that she went to Zhang Jiande's home to negotiate four or five times. After the implementation of the Anti-Domestic Violence Law in 2016, she deliberately went to his home to hold a presentation. When she left, Zhang Jiande promised not to beat his wife.
She said, "It's hard for an upright official to break housework, and women are a vulnerable group."
The village director also came to the house to persuade him. Zhang Erhui recalled that three years ago, the village director changed his term. "It was my good buddy. I called my dad the uncle. I couldn't say anything."
Zhang Jiande's beating Han Yue is nothing new in Lianxing Village.
The village was not big. On a winter night, Sun Xiuhua went out to take a urine bucket. The air was quiet. She could hear Han Yue's call from a distance, and she entered the house after one or two. It was minus 40 degrees Celsius, which was too cold.
Over the years, the village has declined and people have gone out to work. In the past, the karaoke halls and small buildings were full. Now the middle school buildings are empty. Many old neighbors who have seen violence moved to live in the county.

Around 2000, Han Yue's parents died of cerebral thrombosis and lung cancer.
Han Mei remembered that when his mother died, Han Yue didn't eat or drink all day, "It's sad."
Sometimes she would find her sister-in-law Zhang Jianfang, who has lived in Lianxing Village for many years, to complain.
Zhang Jianfang said that she persuaded Zhang Jiande to "don't do it all the time", "I will scare her not to beat her," Zhang Jiande said.
Zhang Jianfang felt that his sister-in-law was "splendid", "Why don't you fight (with him)." She thinks more of Zhang Jiande's goodness. He will carry firewood for himself, buy clothes and shoes for his mother, and often heat up the stove. Only then did Han Yue get up, "My brother can't do without my sister-in-law."
All Han Yue could do was escape.
She once talked to Liu Fugui about an escape five or six years ago: in the middle of the night, she took a small bag and walked for several kilometers on the frozen river, trying to escape to Morida Wadaur, which is under the jurisdiction of Inner Mongolia, opposite Lianxing. As we get older, fleeing becomes a luxury.
Han Yue once ran to the train station in Nenjiang in 2017 and met an old lady who wanted to take her out to work. She finally did not get on the bus.
Zhang Errong speculated that her mother might be a little scared to go out of town. "Now she doesn't necessarily understand (how to take the train). She has swiped her ID card. She has no education and there is no place for her to stay outside."
The moments when Han Yue can breathe are mostly when she avoids her at Han Mei's house.
Sleeping on the bed, the two sisters talked about everything. Han Yue missed the iron pan and big pancake stewed fish in her hometown. How did she and Zhang Jiande sneak away in the first place... All the young things were said, and the sentence was reversed several times.
Han Yue asked Han Mei: I don’t understand it. I’m older. I know the colder the hotter I am. My temper is lost. Should I be better?
