On the evening of February 6, local time, a 26-year-old Chinese graduate student from Yale University, Kevin Jiang, was shot and killed in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. The police are still investigating the case and there is no arrest in the shooting anyone.
The local police said that at around 8:30 pm on February 6th, they received multiple 911 calls to report a shooting.
Residents nearby said the killer fired at least seven shots.
Yale University President Peter Salovey later confirmed that the victim of the shooting was Jiang Kaiwen, a student of the School of Environmental Studies of the school, who is expected to graduate in 2021.
Jiang Kaiwen just proposed to his girlfriend a week ago.
His social account profile says "Thank you for the gift that life gave me."
According to Jiang Kaiwen's information, he has served in the US Army since 2012. He has served as a tank and armored soldier and is now a member of the US National Guard.
