A former bank employee in her 40s was arrested for illegally withdrawing and stealing approximately 52 million yen in cash from her bank in Tokyo.

The person who was arrested was a former employee of Mizuho Bank, Haruyo Ichinoseki (40) in Suginami-ku, Tokyo.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Ichiseki illegally withdrew 52 million yen in cash from the bank more than 10 times between 2017 and about a year and a half while working at Mizuho Bank Hiroo Branch in Minato-ku, Tokyo. There is a suspicion that he stole it.



At that time, Ichinoseki was in charge of contracting and lending loans at this branch, and was withdrawing cash in the name of lending a loan to a customer.



It was discovered in an internal investigation by the bank, and Ichinoseki was dismissed as a disciplinary measure, and the Metropolitan Police Department was conducting an investigation.



In response to the investigation, he admitted the suspicion and said, "I was so stressed that I used it to buy clothes and travel abroad."
