[Explanation] Jasmine is known as the "first fragrance in the world". As the city flower of Fuzhou, the locals have a unique love for jasmine. Jasmine represents not only the fragrance, but also a bearing of memory.

In Fuzhou, perfumer Guo Bin used the little-known ancient perfumery technique to successfully produce natural jasmine cream and became the representative inheritor of this technique.

Recently, the reporter visited Guo Bin in Fuzhou.

[Commentary] When I saw Guo Bin, he was in front of the desk, recording a video introducing Fuzhou's jasmine tea, jasmine cream and making skills.

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, many jasmine enthusiasts living overseas were unable to come to Fuzhou. Guo Bin used this method to introduce Fuzhou's jasmine culture to them.

[Explanation] Guo Bin, 60 years old this year, is the first generation of perfumers from the discipline after the reform and opening up.

In 1978, Guo Bin entered the Fuzhou Perfume Factory. At that time, there was a shortage of perfumers in the factory.

In February 1980, Shanghai Light Industry College recruited students for the first perfumery class, and Guo Bin passed the exam and was successfully admitted.

However, because it was difficult to pass the smell test in the perfumery class, the class was not opened until February 1981 when 32 people were recruited.

Three years later, Guo Bin graduated from the perfumery class and returned to Fuzhou Perfumery as a perfumer.

Until 1993, after the Fuzhou Perfumery Factory was restructured and the natural perfume industry chain was moved out, Guo Bin began to try to extract natural jasmine perfume by hand.

How to preserve the fragrance of jasmine? It happens that we are authentic Fuzhou people. From jasmine to Fuzhou, we have a history of two thousand years. As an aromatic substance, jasmine has a history of nearly a thousand years, so we have also contacted and done it as a family. This kind of technique, so I thought about how to use this traditional family-inherited technique, and how to make it better and more perfect with the technique I learned later as a perfumer, so I started to pick it up again. This cold suction technique.

[Explanation] Guo Bin opened a bottle of jasmine cream, took a small piece and smeared it on the back of his hand.

Guo Bin told reporters that a bottle of dozens of grams of jasmine cream requires 12 strict procedures, using the oldest "cold suction method", and uses camellia oil and other vegetable oils as the base to make natural jasmine cream.

This is called the principle of making incense by the cold inhalation method. It is said that its principle is the Bronze Age. The ancients have known the principle of oil absorption of incense. Then we are now the one below is oil. In this wooden frame, we put flowers on the oil as flowers. It is said that the aromatic substances will be absorbed by the oil. This is the process by which the aromatic substances enter the oil. This is called the cold absorption method.

A complete absorption to saturation takes 36 times.

It takes almost 90 days from the processing of raw materials to the final product.

[Explanation] After years of exploration and improvement, Guo Bin maximized the fusion of jasmine fragrance and plant gelatin.

Today, Guo Bin’s ancient Fuzhou jasmine paste making skills have been included in the Fuzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Project, and he has also become the representative inheritor of the project.

One is to be Chinese, the second is natural, and the third is environmental protection. Put these three concepts in, and this is both a respect for tradition and a tribute.

So we also met a French perfumer who wanted to understand the taste of China. He came to Fuzhou and came to Fuzhou to understand how Fuzhou jasmine is presented, how its culture is presented, and how its skills are presented. of.

[Explanation] Indulged in Xiangyi for more than 40 years, Guo Bin's affection for Jasmine has always been the same.

During the interview, he also kept saying "a jasmine, life will never be separated". In his opinion, "doing only one thing in one life" is the essential character for the ultimate ingenuity.
