The situation in Egyptian prisons is not good.
This is the observation made by Amnesty International on the occasion of the 10 years of the revolution.
The overcrowded cells are filled mainly with opponents of the current regime, members of Islamist organizations, but also and above all with men and women who were at the forefront of the fight for social and political justice during the popular uprising of 2011. Amnesty's investigation also shows significant failures by the Egyptian prison authorities in protecting detainees in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is the meaning of the intervention of our guest, Katia Roux, Liberty advocacy manager at Amnesty International France.
