For four years, Steffen Schwarzkopf got up in the morning with Donald Trump and went to bed in the evening.

In a figurative sense, of course.

Then, all of a sudden: it's over, it's over.

No more insulting tweets in the morning, no more “chopper talk” at lunchtime, no more spicy revelations in the evening.

No live switch to the latest atrocity from the White House, no report from a loud-mouthed MAGA rally.

Well, the first few days with the new President Joe Biden were exciting.

But now the man is just doing his job.

A long-forgotten calm has returned to Washington.

And this is gradually causing phantom pain for our US correspondent.

Because suddenly hardly anyone is interested in him anymore.

There are no calls from the editorial office in Berlin.

In his desperation, Steffen is already producing articles about the pandas in the zoo and the weather.

But rescue is near: The impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump will begin next week in the Senate.

is the podcast by Steffen Schwarzkopf, the US correspondent for the news channel WELT.

Steffen gives a glimpse behind the scenes of Washington's political life and into the America of ordinary people.

At this point, he speaks regularly about what you can't see on TV or the web.

And about the not always easy family life with his wife Julia and the children Til and Jette.

After four years of Donald Trump, Steffen himself has to get used to the changed reality under the new US President Joe Biden.
