Students will once again be able to "eat on site" in university restaurants "in the days to come", Minister of Higher Education Frédérique Vidal announced on Friday.

Until now, only take-out was possible in “U restaurants”, which have been gradually reopening for a week with the partial return of students to college.

Two weeks ago, the Head of State announced that all students could have access to two meals a day for the price of one euro in these restaurants, in order to better cope with the consequences of the Covid-19.

Until now, the one-euro meal was only offered to scholarship students, once a day.

Restaurants open later

"Among the things in high demand, there was the possibility of eating on site so it's done, the arbitration was taken, I prepared a protocol with the establishments which was validated", launched Frédérique Vidal , interviewed on the HugoDécrypte YouTube channel.

According to the minister, “the decree will be taken in the coming days and we will be able to eat in the Crous spaces, with very strict sanitary rules, but we will not be obliged to leave with our bag and eat outside or in four in a car ”.

The minister also announced that university restaurants could remain open later, "beyond 6 pm", to allow students to recover their meals for one euro at the end of the day.

"These are health protocols that are recorded, it dates from this morning," she continued.
