Schleswig-Holstein's Ministry of Health has warned against wearing certain protective masks of the type KN95 because of quality defects.
Masks with the designation "KN95 Protective Mask, Model No: ZX-168, GB-2626-2006" should not be used at the moment, it said in a message.
"It cannot be ruled out that these do not fulfill their function due to clear deficiencies and thus promote the transmission of an infection."
According to current knowledge, the masks also do not meet the requirements of the applicable Sars-CoV-2 occupational health and safety ordinance, so they should not be used in care facilities, for example.
The distribution channel is not known at the moment.
Despite the difficulties in obtaining sufficient corona vaccine, Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron have reaffirmed the European path they have chosen.
