In an interview with
published on Friday, Jean Castex promised that “significant investments” would be “announced in the coming weeks” for hospitals, in addition to the Ségur de la Santé.
"Significant investments will also be announced in the coming weeks, not to mention the assumption of a third of the hospital debt", declared the Prime Minister to the regional daily, on the eve of a visit to Brittany.
Asked by AFP, Matignon did not provide any details on these investments.
8.2 billion euros in salary increases
In the context of the health crisis, the executive had already gone to the bedside of the hospital system last summer with the Ségur de la Santé, which resulted in an envelope of 8.2 billion euros in salary increases as well as 15,000 hires.
Added to this is the recovery of hospital debt to the tune of 13 billion euros.
