More than 11,000 migrants have arrived in the Canary Islands since the start of 2020. These Spanish islands have not experienced such a migratory crisis for more than ten years.

A figure again, in October 2020 alone, nearly 5,000 arrivals were recorded.

In addition to the health crisis, the Spanish authorities are struggling to cope.

Between boondoggles, sprains of the law and fed up with the local population, the situation there is chaotic.

“Canaries, the new Lampedusa?”, A great report by Noémie Lehouelleur.
