A photo exhibition of the current appearance of the former islanders who were withdrawn from the Northern Territories after the war is being held in Tokyo on February 7th, "Northern Territories Day".

The photo was taken by Junko Yamada, a former islander III who was from Zelyony Island, one of the Habomai Islands.



Mr. Yamada lost his grandfather when he was a child and could not hear about his grandfather's hometown, so he visited 30 former islanders living in various places and took pictures after listening to the situation at that time. It was.



At the venue, there are photos of a woman who participated in a memorial service from the sky last October looking at the island with her daughter, a photo taken to commemorate the 100th day of life, and even now, more than 75 years later. Pictures of the hands of women who are cherishing are on display.



A woman from Saitama Prefecture said, "I knew about the Northern Territories in the news, but I didn't think about the deep thoughts of the former islanders. I'm glad I knew how I lived."

Junko Yamada, who took the picture, said, "It's being weathered as an event in history, but I hope it will give you an opportunity to think about something. I hope people of the same generation and younger people can see it."



The photo exhibition is being held at "Ricoh Imaging Square Tokyo" in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo until the 15th of this month.
