  • The twelfth season of

    Top Chef

is launched by M6 this Wednesday, February 10.

  • Discover the profile of those who will feast our eyes (but unfortunately not our taste buds) for several weeks.

Koh-Lanta

and

Top Chef

, same fight: there are fifteen of them and at the end, only one will remain.

On Wednesday February 10, M6 will broadcast the launch of the new edition of its cooking competition.

Once again this year, the production and the members of the jury promise a season "beyond compare" with the others, all thanks to the extraordinary level of the candidates who make up the cast.

The three faces to watch out for

Looking at the entire cast of this new season, there is one that particularly tickles our interest.

At 27, Matthias Marc has owned his own restaurant in Paris for three years.

Anxious to work with responsible and local cuisine, the young man began to make a name for himself in the world of gastronomy.

Young Chef of the Year Gault and Millau 2019, 27th place among the people of Atabula gastronomy, best entry in France in 2019 according to the Lebey Guide, a list that already places Matthias at the top of the potential winners.

Yet, on the show, it's not the titles that make the winners.

Perhaps Matthias will have his hair done on the pole by a face that M6 viewers know well: that of Charline Stengel, 19, winner of

Objectif Top Chef

.

With only four years of experience, she started a professional cooking certificate at the Grenoble Institute of Trades and Techniques and finished 3rd in the competition for the best apprentice in France.

Another name to remember, that of Adrien Zedda.

At 26, the cook is the executive chef of two establishments in Lyon: Victoire & Thomas and Culina Hortus, voted best vegetarian restaurant in the world.

Just that !

In addition, the candidate has a revenge to take since he participated in the first season of

Objectif Top Chef

but had not been very far in the competition.

Today, he wants to show Philippe Etchebest how far he has come.

An internationally oriented cast

If these three candidates seem to have all the keys in hand to go as far as possible in the adventure, nothing is set in stone.

Everyone has their own personality to defend, like Mathieu Vande Velde, sous-chef of the two-star La Paix in Brussels, who dreams of opening his restaurant with three macaroons.

Baptiste Trudel, for his part, does not want to own just one establishment in his name, but a restaurant with stars, a street-food place and a wine bar.

Some also have a more international tone, like Jarvis Scott, chef de partie alongside Albert Adrià in Barcelona or Pierre Chomet, who spent the last two years in Thailand as sous chef at the starred Chef's Table.

We will also note the presence of Thomas Chisholm, born in New York and arrived in Perpignan at the age of 14.

Yohei Hosaka, he left Japan in 2010 to settle in France without speaking a word of French.

His dream ?

Beat its competitors on classics of French gastronomy.

Various and varied CVs

Women, meanwhile, are more numerous than last year, even if they represent only a quarter of the cast.

In addition to Charline Stendel, it will be necessary to watch Chloé Charles, independent chef sensitive to the policy of "zero waste" and happy to have a great professional freedom.

An equally important notion in the eyes of Sarah Mainguy, who has never wanted to work in big star-studded houses and who relies everything on her creativity.

Pauline Sene, she could be considered as his opposite, since she particularly likes the rigor of the stars.

As every year, we will also discover colorful candidates.

A category in which Arnaud Baptiste obviously fits, a cook whose fiery temperament, tattoos and the look of "Parisian titi" will certainly speak.

Mohamed Cheikh, too, is very careful with his look and his image.

Coming from a popular district of Fontenay-sous-Bois, the chef has suffered discrimination in the kitchen which, according to him, has made him untouchable.

Last candidate of this selection, but not the least, Bruno Aubin is also one of the faces to remember from the start of the season.

Commiss de cuisine at L'Hostellerie de Plaisance under the orders of Philippe Etchebest thirteen years ago, he worked for eight years at Le Bristol with chef Eric Frechon and is now chef at Hôtel Le Narcisse Blanc.

So many diverse and varied awards that promise a high-flying season.
