On the night of the 2nd, a house was burnt down in Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture, and two bodies were found in the burnt remains.

Police are confirming that the two women who lived in the house may have died.

After 6 pm on the 2nd, the fire department was notified that a fire had broke out from the house of Toshiko Shibuya in the central east of Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture.



A fire engine came out to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished about five hours later, but one wooden two-story house was completely burned down, and two bodies were found on the first floor of the burnt remains.



According to police, Mr. Shibuya lives with three family members, and after the fire, he has lost contact with two women, Mr. Shibuya in his 80s and his daughter in his 60s.



Police are investigating the cause of the fire as well as confirming that it is possible that these two people died.



The site is a residential area about 2 km east of JR Sakurambo-Higashine Station.
