During the "Industry Projects" period, the festival will focus on promoting selected films from the main competition unit, short film unit, encounter unit, and new generation unit.

The members of the international jury will also decide the awards of each unit including the main competition unit during the initial period.

However, the award ceremony will be held during the "Summer Special Screening" in June, and audiences will also be allowed to enter the venue to watch all the participating films this year.

It is worth mentioning that the composition of the jury of this year's Berlin Film Festival will no longer be chaired by one person as usual in previous years and the usual film festivals, leading people from various fields in the industry to determine the final award.

Instead, six directors who have won the Golden Bear Award in the past serve as the judges to determine the attribution of the main competition unit awards, and there is no special position of chairman of the jury.

These six are the Bosnia and Herzegovina director Jasmila Žbanić who won in 2006 with ``Grbavica'' (Grbavica), and they won with ``Fire At Sea'' in 2016. Italian director Gianfranco Rosi (Gianfranco Rosi), Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi (Ildikó Enyedi) who won in 2017 with ``On Body and Soul'', 2018 with ``Don't Touch Romanian director Adina Pintilie (Adina Pintilie) who won the title of "Touch Me Not", Israeli director Nadav Lapid (Nadav Lapid) who won the title of "Synonyms" in 2019, 2020 "There is No Evil" (There is No Evil) aspired Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof (Mohammad Rasoulof)-male and female directors are divided into half.

The organizing committee stated in the announcement: the six Golden Bear award winners "will watch the shortlisted films under the Berlin screen."

It is worth noting that the Iranian director Rassorov failed to come to Berlin to accept the award in person last year because of restrictions on his freedom of movement.

On February 11, when the Berlin Film Festival was originally scheduled to open this year, the artistic director Carlo Chatrian (Carlo Chatrian) will announce the list of shortlisted films for the main competition unit in the form of an online live broadcast.
