A drunk man caused several accidents and total damage of 100,000 euros on an odyssey with a stolen tractor in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The 23-year-old became aware of the tractor on Monday evening in Radevormwald, according to his own statements, "after a drinking binge", as the police announced.

"On the spur of the moment" he stole the vehicle, on which a four-meter-wide snow blade was mounted, and drove it through the town.

The police then received several emergency calls about damaged cars - according to the responsible district police authority, the man had drawn a "path of devastation".

The police finally found the 23-year-old in a supermarket parking lot “in the immediate vicinity” of the tractor he had parked there.

The man was apparently under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The officers took him to the hospital for a blood test and then took him to police custody.
