After the coup in Myanmar, the military appointed a new 11-member cabinet.

This consists largely of generals and former military leaders as well as some members of the army-backed Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), the newspaper "The Irrawaddy" reported on Tuesday.

Many of them failed as candidates in the November parliamentary elections.

Now they are getting high ministerial posts.

The composition of the new cabinet was announced by the powerful General Min Aung Hlaing, who is in charge of command during the year-long emergency.

The military had the de facto head of government Aung San Suu Kyi and numerous high-ranking members of the civilian government arrested on Monday night.

Where they are currently staying is still unclear.

Suu Kyi and her party NLD had clearly won the general election.

The 75-year-old former freedom icon was elected for a second term.

The military had recently questioned the election result.

Officially, possible electoral fraud is given as the reason for the coup.

Meanwhile, a video from the country goes viral: Apparently unscathed by the ongoing military coup, a sports teacher completed her morning aerobics program - and unwantedly filmed roadblocks, military vehicles and soldiers.

The clip posted on Facebook shows Khing Hnin Wai dancing and jumping to dynamic music in a neon yellow outfit.

The background: a large street in the capital Naypyidaw, on which a military convoy suddenly rolls by.

Many users speculated on Twitter that it could only be a fake video.

The sports teacher reacted promptly and posted numerous other videos that she had recorded in the past at the same place.

The multi-lane road in the background was always empty.

“I didn't dance to be famous.

I've been coming here for eleven months as part of a 'Fitness Dance Competition', ”she wrote.

In Naypyidaw, huge streets with no traffic at all are pretty normal.

The planned city has only been the capital of the former Burma since 2005 and was built by the military junta.

Although it is much larger than Berlin, only about 300,000 people live here - observers refer to the city as "bizarre" and "grotesque".

The video may appear to be a fake, but it is not. ”Another said:“ And so it happened that the revolution was filmed in the end - even if only as the background for an aerobics class. ”
