  • Apart from hospitalizations, up slightly in HCLs, coronavirus monitoring indicators are stable or declining in the Rhône.

  • They still remain at a high level, a sign that the second wave is not yet under control.

An incidence rate of the disease stable or even slightly lower, and admissions in shifts which do not change much.

After a slight increase in the figures at the end of January, the monitoring indicators for Covid-19 in the Rhône again seem to have stabilized, according to daily data from Public Health France.

The only figure on the rise, the number of hospitalizations in Lyon's civil hospices has increased over the past week, going from 333 to 361 Covid + patients received in the various departments of the CHU de Lyon. However, where the occupancy rate remains high (95.7%), 71 patients with coronavirus were taken care of on Tuesday.

A stable figure for the third consecutive week.

Fewer positive cases on a daily basis

Sign that the epidemic is contained in the Lyon metropolis and the department, the number of calls to the Samu and emergency visits linked to the virus have decreased over the last seven days, according to the report drawn up by the HCL.

The disease incidence rate, which measures the level of circulation of the virus in the population, also stabilized after a slight increase observed in January.

It now stands at 231.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants against 233.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the sliding week of January 23 to 28.

The number of new contaminations is weakening, with 743 patients testing positive in the Rhône on January 29, whereas they were still 775 a week earlier.

As usual, despite these encouraging data, it is obviously too early to talk about a decline in the epidemic and vigilance remains in order in hospitals, overcrowded for many months.

If the circulation of the virus seems under control in the light of these indicators, the figures remain at a high level, similar to that observed on the eve of the Christmas holidays and much higher than that observed at the end of the summer.

As a reminder, on August 31, before the second wave, the HCL had 58 Covid + patients hospitalized, including eleven in intensive care.
