During the night from Monday to Tuesday, two people trapped in their car in a street in the medieval city of Cordes-sur-Ciel, in the Tarn, were rescued by firefighters.

Two more, since Sunday and the arrival of the storm Justine.

In total, the men in red had intervened 52 times this Tuesday morning because of bad weather, including 9 times to put a total of twenty people to safety.

Most of them got stuck in their cars, especially in Cordais and Carmausin.

A family of four was also evacuated Monday from its flooded house in Salles-sur-Cérou.

Avoid unnecessary travel

The Cérou river is the subject of special surveillance this Tuesday even if the sun has returned.

The most affected basins of the Tarn, still in orange vigilance, are those of Viaur and Aveyron to the north, and Agout and Thoré to the south.

The firefighters of the Tarn call for vigilance, in particular by avoiding unnecessary travel and by complying with road signs.
