  • The vaccination campaign is continuing in Haute-Garonne, even if the appointment slots are saturated at the moment.

  • The telephone meeting platform receives an average of 15,000 to 20,000 phone calls per day.

  • On Monday, patients received text messages of cancellations of their second dose appointment due to a technical quack according to the Regional Health Agency, which will reprogram them.

The anti-Covid vaccination campaign is not a long quiet river.

A little over two weeks ago, the platform for making a telephone appointment to receive his injection opened its lines in Haute-Garonne, on the eve of the extension to over 75s.

A specific number quickly stormed to obtain a niche in one of the 35 centers of the department.

“We have 15,000 to 20,000 calls a day, which is what we usually have over a week at Samu.

But we can't deal with everything.

There should be additional slots in the coming days.

We also realized that many had made several appointments, such as this lady who had eleven on three different sites, ”explained Friday Vincent Bounes, the head of the Toulouse Samu whose teams coordinate the telephone platform.

It also happens that brothers and sisters each make a date for their elderly parents.

Several hundred duplicates were deprogrammed before being reassigned, in particular to priority patients, followed in the context of their pathology.

The latter, numbering 5,400, were contacted directly and were offered two appointments: one for their vaccination and one for the recall.

SMS and a little stress

But given the craze for vaccination and the tension over supply issues, the slightest grain of sand disturbs the machine.

Thus, on Monday, people received an SMS from the KelDoc Internet platform telling them that their appointment for a second injection was canceled.

What cause concern among some recipients, given the difficulty in finding the slightest niche in the coming days and knowing that it is necessary to respect a period of twenty-eight days at most between the two vaccine injections.

A quack due to technical manipulation identified by the Regional Health Agency of Occitanie.

“In Haute-Garonne, 8 of the 35 vaccination centers were faced with second injection appointments, made by people who did not receive the first injection.

This situation necessitated the rescheduling of nearly 800 appointments set between February 15 and March 14.

Their appointment for the second injection will be rescheduled within the timeframe and new appointments will be offered to them this afternoon and tomorrow at the latest by SMS ”, want to reassure the health authorities.

In addition, those who have inadvertently made an appointment for a first injection when these slots were reserved for second injections, a new appointment will be offered to them by the end of the week.
