Like King Midas, everything

Amancio Ortega

touches

ends up turning into gold.

And who knows if this will be the case with his latest real estate acquisition, the four-star Senator Playaballena hotel.

The accommodation is located in

Costa Ballena

, an urban project that started in the mid-90s between the urban centers of

Rota and Chipiona

and that aimed to combine landscaping, nature and tourist complexes.

Opened in 2007, Senator Playaballena has among its greatest benefits its location in the

Bay of Cádiz:

next to the Costaballena golf course, on the beachfront and a stone's throw from the centers of Rota, Chipiona and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Acquired for

25 million euros

according to Europa Press, Playaballena is a family resort within the Senator Hotel & Resorts hotel group, with more than forty accommodations distributed between Spain (mainly Andalusia) and the Caribbean.

It has

324 rooms

and extensive facilities: swimming pools for all ages (themed with slides, jacuzzi, heated deck ...), entertainment program, restaurant and spaces to play petanque,

shuffle-board,

rifle shooting, mini golf and ping pong.

The hotel, with rates starting at

75 euros per night

and offering all-inclusive accommodation, also has a

beauty center:

the Senzia Spa & Wellness with a water circuit and treatment area.

Themed pool with slides for the little ones.

But without a doubt one of the Senator Playaballena's biggest claims is its proximity to the Costaballena Ocean Golf Club, a 27-hole competition course, 9-hole Par 3 and

the best practice area in all of Europe,

designed by Olazábal.
