A new protocol has been in force since Monday in National Education, due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

And especially in canteens. "In the first level, the non-mixing between students of different classes must be respected, indicates the ministry about school catering, in this reinforced protocol.

The pupils of the same class have lunch together while maintaining a distance of at least two meters from those of the other classes.

The stability of groups of students having lunch at the same table is privileged.

"

The ministry specifies that the implementation of the two-meter distance between classes must be operational by February 8 at the latest.

"This decree no longer allows us to welcome students in the restaurant"

For some school canteens, this new measure is difficult to implement.

Or even impossible.

In Caveirac (Gard), the school canteen was closed by the municipality, and children will now eat in class.

“In view of the very large number of children who eat in the canteen every day, this decree no longer allows us to welcome students in the school canteen, except to take a significant amount of school time, which does not is not possible ”, specifies the city, on Facebook.

From this Monday, the pupils “will eat seated in their respective classes” and “will be located between them at a distance of two meters when they remove their masks to eat.

Note that this Monday, the caterer not delivering meals, the children had to arrive at school with their packed lunches.

From Thursday, the caterer will take over by offering sandwiches to the students, who will also have to bring their water bottles.

"We have thus tried to do the best, in the urgency imposed by the decree, to both preserve the health of our schoolchildren and keep the catering service open in order to allow working parents not to have to do eat their child at home ”, underlines the town hall of Caveirac, in a message to parents.
