The balance of audiences for the first month of 2021 seems to outline a certain change in the trend of the television frame.

, Antena 3 cuts the distance that separates it from Telecinco to just two tenths, which, however, manages to retain once again the leadership that it has held for 29 consecutive months (13.8% vs. 13.6% screen share).

For its part, RTVE repeats the poor data that it has been dragging in its stage with

Rosa María Mateo

as the sole provisional administrator of the corporation: La 1 remains at 9.8%, very far from the data recorded by the main channels.

By communication groups, in January Atresmedia (27.4%) prevailed over Mediaset (26.8%);

while RTVE is lagging again in this section (15.7%, in the balance of its five channels -La 1, La 2, Teledeporte, Clan and Canal 24Horas -).

The change in this section is significant, because it had only occurred twice before since the

digital blackout

in May 2014

left Atresmedia with one less channel than its competitor (six -Antena 3, La Sexta, Neox, Nova, Mega and Atreseries), compared to seven -Telecinco, Cuatro, FDF, Divinity, Energy, Boing and BeMad-).

Thanks to the good performance of its

'prime time'

and also its

desktop

, Antena 3 manages to reduce its distance with Telecinco to just 0.2 points.

The Mediaset chain, for its part, manages to maintain its dominance in the

morning

afternoon

late night

bands

.

In the comparison with the previous month (December 2020), Antena 3 achieved a growth of 0.4 points, while Telecinco experienced a decrease of -0.2.

A year ago both channels were separated by 1.8 points (13.5% of Telecinco compared to 11.7% of Antena 3).

In the ranking of the

most viewed broadcasts of the month

, the first 10 positions are occupied by Antena 3 programs: two broadcasts of 'Pasapalabra', one of 'El hormiguero' and seven deliveries of the

Vicente Vallés

newscast

.

Regarding the competition maintained by the second channels of Mediaset and Atresmedia, La Sexta achieves 6.9% in this month of the beginning of the year (improving four tenths compared to December 2020), while Cuatro is behind with 5 , 3% (growing two tenths compared to the previous month).

As for TVE, the data certify its worst record in a month of January in its history.

Just a year ago, La 1 scored a 10.2% share of the screen.

The poor results of the public are especially relevant in their news.

Newscasts are still the third option among the audience's preferences, far from those of Antena 3 (leading for another month in the calculation of the midday and night editions from Monday to Sunday with an average of 2,989,000 viewers) and also those of Telecinco (2,259,000).

The La 1 news programs -even adding the rebroadcasting data from Canal 24h- remain with 2,130,000 viewers, closer to those of La Sexta than to the top spots.
