Our gut microbiota is of interest to researchers.

A study plans to call on 100,000 French people to list the bacteria that colonize our intestines, in order to better understand how they work, France Info recently reported.

A northern dietitian nutritionist, Fabienne Lemaître, also took up the subject.

She has just published a book,

Sauvons notre intestin

(at Geai bleu éditions), prefaced by specialist Didier Chos.

Goal ?

Prevent the dangers that ultra-processed food poses to the health of our intestinal flora, the microbiota.

"Death begins in the colon"

“Hippocrates understood everything when he said death begins in the colon,” explains the author.

The intestinal microbiota is the key to our health because 60% of our immunity is found in our intestine, and pollution, junk food or even stress alters this organ on a daily basis, thus opening the door to all kinds of diseases.

"

Her book explains how to take care of what she calls the "second brain" and offers solutions.

By listing in particular the so-called “prebiotic” foods that facilitate the metabolism of the microbiota.

By also explaining the importance of dietary fibers, called inulin, which provide a feeling of satiety, "very useful in the treatment of obesity".

There are also recipes for sensitive intestines, concocted by northern chefs like Nicolas Pourcheresse, for example.

The latter reveals his secrets for successful organic artichokes and roasted peaches with candied shallots.

Because taking care of your body does not prevent you from having fun.
