As the demand for "wormcation" increases due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, Otsuki City is focusing on attracting people who spend time in the city for the purpose of worcation from urban areas such as Tokyo.



As part of this, the city has decided to renovate the building that used to be a teacher's dormitory and rent it out to people who spend time in the city for wormcation and telework.



This dormitory was built in the latter half of the Showa era for teachers working at elementary and junior high schools in the city from afar, but due to the declining birthrate, the number of schools has decreased, so the need for dormitories has disappeared and it has not been used for the past five years. It was.



The dormitory is a two-story reinforced concrete building with 10 rooms with 6 tatami mats and 2 rooms. The two adjacent rooms will be renovated and rented for accommodation and office, respectively, and a shared conference room will be provided.



Due to the renovation work, Otsuki City has posted about 47 million yen as a project cost, and the construction will start in April and will be completed in August.



The city plans to recruit users on its website, etc., and says, "I want to get a job in Otsuki City first and eventually lead to emigration."
