[Subtitle] On January 31, the State Council's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held a press conference.

At the press conference, answers were given to hot issues such as the "overweight" of epidemic prevention in various places, the increase of asymptomatic infections, and the detection of positive nucleic acids in food.

[Question 1] There are still netizens who report that some places have "overweighted" and "one size fits all" the health monitoring and nucleic acid testing of returnees. How do you evaluate it?

[Concurrent] Mi Feng, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department, Spokesperson, National Health Commission

"Overweight" and "one size fits all" are both a lazy policy and a waste of precious resources for epidemic prevention.

For provinces other than Beijing, the "six nos" should be implemented. People from other places should not be arbitrarily prohibited from returning to their hometowns for the New Year, and measures of concentration and home isolation should not be implemented for returnees. Nucleic acid testing does not check nucleic acid test certificates for non-key populations returning home from low-risk areas in the province, does not conduct home health monitoring on returnees within the province, and does not arbitrarily extend the home health monitoring period.

Localities should rectify deviations in a timely manner. The State Council's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism Comprehensive Team will pay close attention to the implementation of local policies, and will notify the implementation of policies that clearly do not meet the requirements and require immediate rectification.

[Question two] Why has the number of asymptomatic infections increased recently?

[Concurrent] Xu Wenbo, Director of the Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, China CDC

Recently, my country has reported a large number of asymptomatic infections of new crowns, mainly because my country's borders have moved forward and the ability to detect cases has increased.

In addition, many places have shortened the time interval for nucleic acid testing in epidemic control, and increased the number of nucleic acid tests. This has also led to more early or lower levels of infection to be screened.

An asymptomatic infected person has a certain degree of infectivity. Since no symptoms have appeared, an asymptomatic infected person does not know that he will infect other people, and those who contact him are also at risk of transmission.

[Question 3] Imported frozen foods such as cherries and frozen squid have tested positive for nucleic acid. Is it safe to eat them?

[Concurrent] Li Ning, Deputy Director, National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment

The new coronavirus nucleic acid test is mainly for nucleic acid fragments of the virus. Whether it is a live virus or a dead virus, it may be positive for nucleic acid. Therefore, a positive nucleic acid for food does not mean that it is infectious.

So far, there has been no case report of consumers contracting the new coronavirus through purchasing and processing food.

Judging from the detection of new coronavirus nucleic acid on food and its outer packaging, especially imported food and its outer packaging, the overall positive detection rate is relatively low, less than one in ten thousand.

Therefore, consumers are very unlikely to contract the new coronavirus due to food contact.

[Question 4] What is the itinerary of the World Health Organization expert group in China?

[Concurrent] Mi Feng, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department, Spokesperson, National Health Commission

The WHO international expert team released the centralized medical observation on the afternoon of January 28, and visited Hubei Province Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital, Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, communicated with medical staff and early patients, and visited the "People First "Life First" thematic exhibition on fighting the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

China and the WHO expert group have reached an agreement on the next work arrangement, and will continue to follow the local epidemic prevention and control regulations, and conduct visits to relevant disease control, scientific research institutions and trade markets. Do a scientific and rigorous joint research work on the traceability of the new coronavirus.

[Question 5] How is the new crown vaccination situation?

What about the bad reaction?

[Concurrent] Xu Wenbo, Director of the Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, China CDC

So far, the cumulative number of inoculations reported in various places has exceeded 24 million doses.

In the later stage, my country will adjust immunization strategies in a timely manner according to the epidemic characteristics of new coronary pneumonia, vaccine research and development progress, vaccine supply and epidemic prevention and control strategies, and arrange the vaccination of relevant populations in an orderly manner.

Regarding adverse reactions, preliminary monitoring analysis shows that the general reaction rate of the new coronavirus vaccine is basically the same as the reaction (occurrence) rate of other vaccines marketed in my country in 2019, and the incidence of serious abnormal reaction reports is slightly lower than that of other vaccines marketed in 2019 .

The reported incidence of severe abnormal reactions to the new coronavirus vaccine is not higher than that of the flu vaccine.
