The Swiss Health Center has stated that red beetroot - or what is known as red beet - has enormous health benefits.

It is friendly to the liver and the heart.

The center explained that red beetroot is rich in betaine, which stimulates the liver and gallbladder cells, and then it contributes to stimulating the digestive process on the one hand, and helps the body to expel toxins on the other hand.

Betaine also works to reduce the level of the toxic amino acid known as homocysteine, and thus it protects against cardiovascular disease.

Red beetroot is also rich in folic acid, which protects against heart attacks and strokes, and is of great importance during pregnancy.

It helps build new cells, and then protects the fetus from infection with what is known as cleft lip (cleft) and spina bifida.

The red beetroot includes nitrates, which in the body turn into nitrites, which in turn stimulate the production of nitrogen monoxide in the blood, which helps expand blood vessels, and then reduce high blood pressure, which reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
