Sam Mangwana presents the album
Lubamba
(Label: MDC / Pias)
Giant among giants, legend among legends,
Sam Mangwana
, 75, born in Kinshasa (DRC) to Angolan parents, almost single-handedly embodies the golden age of Congolese rumba.
Throughout a career of incredible richness, he who sang alongside
Tabu Ley Rochereau, Franco
and
Wendo Kolosoy,
he knew how to mix styles with undisguised joy and emotion.
From Portuguese-speaking lyricism to the swaying and nonchalant rhythms of the rumba of yesteryear and passing through the Afro-Cuban sound, Mangwana continues to stick to its time while keeping a look towards the wonders of the past.
In 2016, he released the album
Lubamba
only digitally.
On the occasion of its return to France, this album will finally be available in all formats.
Lubamba
(liana in the Kikongo language), completely new in physical format, is the ultimate proof that emotion and commitment have no age limit.
We will also discover the opening track
Juventude Actual
where Sam is accompanied by another legend of African music,
Manu Dibango
.

Christine Salem presents the album
Mersi
(Label: Blue Fanal)
With the percussions of his island, the Reunionese icon of the maloya-blues now mixes the melodies of a virtuoso violin.
On her traveling tracks, in blues, maloya or rock colors, she gives thanks to her ancestors, and sings of peace.
Uncompromising but with a skin-
deep
sensitivity, in power and softness,
Mersi
looks like
Christine Salem
.
On board, we find his faithful companion
Seb Martel
,
Anne Laure Bourget
on percussion,
Jacky Malbrouk
, guardian of the maloya and the violin of
Frédéric Norel
.
It is
Jean Lamoot
(
Bashung, Salif Keita, Dominique A, Brigitte Fontaine
) who is entrusted, in the setting of Studio Ferber, with the production and the mix of this album which stands out for its light, sincerity and charisma .

San Salvador presents the album
La Grande Folie
(Label: MDC / Pias)
Six powerful, earthly, connected, almost shamanic voices.
Six voices that sing a telluric and hypnotic folk, supported by percussions with assertive authority.
Six voices that make the Occitan language of the western Massif Central heard through festivals all over Europe as if to remind a generation brought up in electro trances, a whole genealogy of fervor and dizziness.
Those six voices are San Salvador, whose debut album will finally arrive after their concert caused a stir everywhere they've performed.
The San Salvador are:
Thibault Chaumeil
Chant, tom bass, mains;
Eva Durif
Chant, hands;
Gabriel Durif
Chant, Tambourine, hands;
Marion Lherbeil
Vocals, tom bass, hands;
Laure Nonique-Desvergnes
Singing, hands;
Sylvestre Nonique-Desvergnes
Vocals, cymbal, bass drum, hands.

Myriam Beldi.

Myriam Beldi presents the album
Écoute Ma Voix
(Label Noa Music)
The Franco-Algerian singer
Myriam Beldi is
releasing a first album in her name,
Listen to my voice
,
an album of songs in French and Arabic, a mixture of compositions and songs from popular Algerian music, the Chaâbi.
She has a real career behind her, but this album is like a first time.
Her long career started in Algeria where she is known.
When
Ptit Moh
, essential musician and arranger (
Gnawa Diffusion
,
Rachid Taha
) discovered the voice and the personality of Myriam, one evening in a cabaret in Algiers, he thought it was time to "
propose to a woman, to sing this Châabi repertoire until then reserved for men ".

Regarding the festival: the 2021 edition will exceptionally be held online.
For the
Au Fil des Voix team
, there was no question of canceling the event.
In this difficult context where the resumption of cultural life is systematically postponed until the next day, we have chosen, since the start of the epidemic, to take the side of dynamic adaptation to bring culture to life.
These artists and musicians have devoted their time, their talent and their energy to this anthology of unpublished stage and recording projects.
They have waited too long to share them with the public and professionals.
By making this choice, by offering them a stage, by reinventing ourselves, we are emphasizing the importance of creation and artistic expression, but also of the link between artists and the public.
The experience will remain extraordinary: everything is in place so that the public can enjoy the performances programmed at
360 Paris Music Factory
from home.
All the concerts will be captured on a set of nearly 100 m2 in high quality by six cameras, under the gaze of a director, in the presence of a few journalists and guest programmers.
Saïd Assadi
, founder.
PS:
All the concerts will be broadcast in February 2021 on various platforms, all of which can be found on the
360 Paris Music Factory
websites
and on the
Au fil des voix website
.
