While his word was expected, the President of the Republic spoke in a tweet on Saturday evening.

He declares to have "confidence in us".

The day before, Prime Minister Jean Castex had announced a series of restrictive measures, the last attempt to stem the epidemic before installing new containment.

The current moment in the health crisis is "crucial", estimated President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, the day after the announcement of new measures against the Covid-19 epidemic.

"I have confidence in us. The hours that we are living are crucial. Let us do everything to curb the epidemic together", tweeted the head of state at the end of the day.
