  • Despite "a certain form of impatience", the vaccination campaign continues slowly but surely in the Pays-de-la-Loire.

  • After having all been taken by storm, new slots will open in the coming days.

While it was among the regions where the least vaccine was vaccinated (barely 1% of the population concerned last Thursday), the Pays-de-la-Loire seems to have caught up a little in terms of vaccination against the coronavirus .

According to the Regional Health Agency, this Thursday, 71,025 people had received the famous injection since the launch of the campaign in early January.

"We hoped to reach 50 or 60,000 by the end of January, we will probably be at 80,000, welcomes Jean-Jacques Coiplet, the regional director, who recalls that Nantes was delivered among the last cities in France.

This figure represents about 20% of the target.

"

In detail, it is the health professionals who have benefited the most (43%), while those over 75 represent 27% of people vaccinated so far.

While 35 vaccination centers are open on the territory, it is in Loire-Atlantique where we have the most bitten (about 24,000 vaccinated).

But if the rate of injections has more than doubled each week, there is still a long way to go: according to the Ministry of Health, all these vaccines in fact represented, on Tuesday, only 1.62% of the population of the region.

Soon new vaccination slots

“There is an influx in the vaccination centers, we feel a certain form of impatience or frustration, concedes the director of the ARS.

But we can't vaccinate more than the number of doses we have.

After all the appointments have been taken by storm, new slots (from February 15) should open in the coming days.

But it's impossible to know how many more, even if the ARS hopes to reach the figure of 120,000 vaccinated at the end of February.

"We do not yet have precise information on the number of doses of the Pfizer vaccine that we will receive," explains Jean-Jacques Coiplet.

We should however benefit from a delivery of Moderna in February.

"

After giving rise to fear of the start of a third wave in the region, the indicators do not soar this Thursday.

With for example an incidence rate of 167.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, they are still on the rise but give a feeling of "false dish".
