It is a question of saving doses to ensure the second injections.

The vaccination appointments scheduled in the Rhône for a first injection will be partly postponed in 14 centers of the department, we learned this Friday from the health authorities and the Rhône prefecture.

This is due to the drop in the volume of doses delivered by Pfizer from January 25 to February 14 inclusive.

This "makes it necessary to set up a regulation of vaccination schedules for the first three weeks of February in order to guarantee the administration of the second injection for all people who have already received the first dose in January", specify the HCL. , the ARS and the State, in a press release.

Postponed to March

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in the Rhône on December 28, nearly 34,000 people have received the first injection of the Pfizer vaccine, including more than 19,000 in the five vaccination centers of the Hospices Civils de Lyon.

"In total, nearly 43,000 vaccination appointments will be provided in the 14 vaccination centers concerned in February or about 72% of scheduled appointments," said the authorities.

But 16,700 appointments, scheduled between February 1 and 21 for a first dose of vaccine, will not be able to be honored on time.

The people concerned "will immediately be offered a new niche from March 1," says the Regional Health Agency.
