Today begins the most anomalous electoral campaign in memory.

And perhaps not surprising, since it is celebrated where political anomaly has become a habit for too many years.

The Catalans arrive at these implausible elections completely exhausted

after a decade of chain failures.

Pujolista stolen by corruption, disappointed by the false alternation assumed Socialist tripartite, deceived by a

proces

liar and kainite, ruined by inestabi

constant quality that drives away companies and investors, shaken like the rest of Spaniards by a lethal pandemic that at the time of calling the polls is still at the peak of its third wave.

But a despicable political class, attentive only to the electoral revenue in the very short term, is going to star on the 14-F in an extemporaneous and epidemiologically terrible confrontation in which there is no lack of an official candidate who leaves the ship in the midst of the crisis of the vaccination campaign -and with hundreds of deaths per day - nor a separatism that seeks to boycott the elections from the institutions.

No citizen understands that the harsh restrictions they have to take under penalty of sanction in order to responsibly contribute to halting the spread of the new extremely contagious British strain,

are put on hold if it comes to attending a rally and then going to school

.

Nobody understands that ordinary citizens are forced to put on an anti-epidemic suit to receive the votes of those infected at the polling station.

Nobody understands that pure partisan interest is disobeying the European Union and the WHO, which has just asked Spain to stop patching and to adopt a three or four week closure.

The 14-F is unsustainable,

no matter where you look.

And its celebration will cost the lives of Catalans.

The problem is that the parties responsible for agreeing on the postponement, as was done in Galicia and the Basque Country with much lower incidence rates and hospital saturation,

they are too absorbed in their demographic calculations and their power strategies.

They prefer to take voters hostage and ask for their vote rather than protect them, as would be their first obligation.

The problem is that responsibility in this country has long been delegated to the Judicial Power due to the absence of the Executive and the Legislature.

At the expense of the TSJ of Catalonia maintaining the call, with a recently arrived Minister of Health in office and with the Government obscenely overturned in Illa's campaign - despite any scruples of institutional neutrality -, it is worth asking what else has to happen to May sanity return one day to Catalonia and all of Spain.

Unless, of course, as the countless and well-trained spokespersons of Moncloa preach, sanity is called Illa and the solution is a new tripartite with ERC.

Exactly the origin of the political madness that brought us here.

Hopefully in a few days we will not be reporting on the fourth wave at the same time as the post-electoral alliances in another ungovernable scenario.
