With his journalist voice, he conquered TikTok in less than a year.

Yofunders, or Gaëtan for close friends, is 20 years old and has more than 1.2 million subscribers on the social network.

His particuliarity ?

Take a voice (a bit exaggerated) of "journalist" that one could particularly hear during a newscast, and comment on all the situations that come to mind.

This tone, Yofunders found it a bit by chance when he was in college and he was having fun using his funny voice to make those around him laugh.

“It got a little addicting because all my friends were doing it too,” he recalls for

.

One day, the idea of performing on TikTok was suggested to him by one of his friends.

“At the beginning, I didn't want to but I listened to him.

That's what made me known and it's thanks to him.

I did well to listen to him, ”he concedes today.

An almost immediate success

Even if it was not an unbearable ordeal for him, Gaëtan was still a little afraid of judgment when starting out on the application.

Thanks to the support of his relatives, the videographer was able to gain self-confidence.

And that's good, since he hit the mark in his second video, quickly reaching the bar of 300,000 views.

“It's cool that it worked so quickly,” he says.

It's not like I struggled for three months with 200 views videos.

"

No pressure for Yofunders when it comes to posting videos, it's rather “cool” according to him, without imposing a rhythm.

"If I get inspiration, I post, otherwise I take a break for a week and then put out a quality video that will work well," he says, who posts an average of between one and three videos a week.

TikTok is not his whole life.

When he does not have his phone in his hands, Gaëtan is on the decks in a DJ school in Poitiers and in a bar in La-Roche-Sur-Yon.

Even if the health situation does not allow him to fully satisfy his passion, the music lover is eager to be able to work again.

While he will soon take his final exams to get his diploma, this break allows him to make a name for himself on the networks.

“For now, I'm busy as I can and TikTok is also a way to be able to flourish and grow my community,” he says.
