[New Year Chronicle] Yi takeaway riders who "ran out" in Daliang Mountain: striving to "run back" to their hometown

[Explanation] As the Spring Festival approaches, Qiu Youhazi, a 30-year-old Yi takeaway rider, is still walking through the streets of Chengdu, Sichuan, under the cold wind.

Qiu Youhazi comes from Matoushan Township, Mianning County, Liangshan Prefecture. He started to run takeaways in October 2019 until now. His number of running orders is almost the first in the area every month.

As for the secret of running orders, Qiu Youhazi said without shy that wanting to make more money is the biggest motivation.

In the site, (my) running orders are also among the best.

This Spring Festival is still the same as last year, I am not going to go home.

Since it came out, the family's pressure and responsibility are also relatively high, and I want to make more money.

Because during the Spring Festival, the unit price is relatively high and the list is a little bit more. Because many people (takeaways) have gone home for the New Year, I want to take this opportunity to earn more money.

[Explanation] Like most young people in Liangshan Prefecture, Qiu Youha couldn't wait to "run out" from Daliang Mountain to work in various parts of China as soon as he became an adult.

For more than 10 years, he moved to Guangdong, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Sichuan and other provinces and cities, gradually getting closer and closer to his hometown.

It is Qiu Youha's unswerving dream to accumulate funds to return home to start a business, and his confidence in realizing his dream is that his hometown is now getting better and better.

When we first went out to work, we had to wait three or four hours for a car, sometimes even a day.

In the past few years, basically every household has a private car, and then gradually changed from a mud road to a village road, and now it has become a cement road.

It used to take four or five hours to get home from the county seat, but now it takes just over an hour to get home.

If you plan in the future, you should first take out.

I have worked in the catering industry before, and I have some savings. What I want to do is to continue to be in my old business and go back to my hometown to develop.

[Explanation] In Chengdu, there are a lot of takeaway riders from Liangshan Prefecture, and Qiu Youhazi's takeaway platform alone has more than 2,200.

Wu He, a 29-year-old Yi nationality food delivery rider also from Mianning County, Liangshan Prefecture, said that his education level is not high, and delivering food is a "cost-effective" job.

Since joining the company in May 2020, his monthly income has exceeded 10,000 yuan at the highest point, which is an income he could not imagine before.

  (I) came out to work in 11 years. I have been to Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing.

During the peak season last year, I could run 50 or 60 orders a day, but now it is relatively off-season, only about 40 or 50 orders a day.

If you work part-time, this (salary) is higher and more stable, because you will have (income) every day.

[Explanation] For Yi nationality takeaway riders like Wuhe Wuhe, the biggest difficulty encountered in work is not understanding dialects and unfamiliar with city routes.

When I first came to Chengdu, because I was a minority, some living habits were very different.

I don't know how to speak Sichuan dialect. When I often deliver food to those communities, I talk to the uncle security guards. You don't understand or understand.

Fortunately, I'm getting used to it slowly now, and I feel like I'm very integrated into the city, and it was quite difficult at first.

As long as you choose the right industry and work hard, you should still have a great opportunity to be the champion in each industry.

[Explanation] On November 17, 2020, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved 7 counties including Puge County and Butuo County in Liangshan Prefecture to withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties sequence. So far, all poverty-stricken counties in Dalian have successfully "taken off their hats."

Similar to the feelings of fellow Qiu Youhazi, Wuhe Wuhe has also experienced the changes in his hometown while returning home to visit relatives again and again, and has set the goal of returning to his hometown for development in the future.

It feels different every time I go home anyway.

A few years ago, going home by car was all that kind of bumpy, steep, and muddy road. Now it’s not steep at all, and it’s very comfortable to go home.

In the past few years, it will continue to develop in Chengdu.

I have thought about going back to do some business, and when I have some money, I will want to go back to my hometown to develop based on the situation of the children and the elderly.
