Kanagawa Prefecture announced on the 28th that a man in his 50s who had been receiving medical treatment at home in Isehara City had died after being infected with the new coronavirus.

The man was said to be mild, but died of cerebral hemorrhage associated with coronavirus pneumonia.

According to Kanagawa Prefecture, the person who died was a man in his 50s who lived alone in Isehara City.

The man was found to be positive on January 18, diagnosed as mild, and was treated at home because he had no previous illness, but a relative who visited his home around 1:00 pm on January 26 collapsed indoors. The rescue team rushed to confirm the death.

The cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage associated with coronavirus pneumonia, and it seems that he died before dawn on the 26th.

According to the prefecture, when a public health nurse in the prefecture made a telephone health observation around 4 pm the day before his death, he had coughing and sore throat, but his condition did not seem to have deteriorated, and the oxygen concentration in his blood was 95%. So, it means that the prefecture was within the normal range.

The prefecture commented, "We were doing what we could, such as following home medical treatment, but it is a pity that the man died."

This is the third person in Kanagawa prefecture who died during home medical treatment while the prefecture and others were observing their health.
